Energy Performance Certificates will be required for every commercial building constructed, bought, or let starting from April 2008… |
Have you got your Part L covered? |
| It is all very easy to put a sticker on a building and say something is A, B, C, or D on energy efficiency. Much harder is constructing new buildings, or indeed refurbishing the old to meet these regulatory frameworks. |
| Meeting Part L is at the foundation of every successful home, office, and building. The last update was in 2006, and demanded a 23.5% to 28% improvement in building performances. The next update in 2010 is widely expected to squeeze a further 25% out of contractors, architects, design engineers, and the building service industry. |
| Can we do it? Well, we must, and considering the commercial incentives energy Performance Certificates will bring to the industry, the sooner the better. |
| To help position your business at the front of emerging zero carbon developments, Construction News is pleased to host Part L 2010. |
-
What is guiding the 2010 update?
-
What is happening to SAP in 2009?
-
How can we construct or refurbish existing buildings to high EPC standards?
-
What product developments will help us get there?
| Part L is at the heart of low carbon building and will be a major factor in our ability to attain exemplary energy performances ratings. |
